CooperSmith's Brewpub & Billiards

The Rockstar Verdict

Opened in 1989 as the city's first brewpub, CooperSmith's is a long-running Old Town Square favorite, with patios on the square. The brewpub describes itself as an English pub meets American standards dining experience: a warm, bustling room, beer brewed on-site, and a menu where everything is made fresh, from scratch. Every beer is brewed on-site, in classic styles, mixing year-round favorites with seasonal releases. Look for Sigda's Green Chili, Poudre Pale Ale, and Horsetooth Stout. The quality has national recognition behind it: in 2023, CooperSmith's won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival for its saison, and its Old Fortwaukee lager took silver at the 2023 World Beer Cup. Food splits across two menus: pubside leans hearty and pub-classic — English bangers and mash, pork schnitzel, and fish and chips — while poolside, at the billiards side next door, the menu is built for groups at play: pizzas, burgers, and bar bites such as beer-battered fries and a hot soft pretzel. The revamped billiards room offers pool tables plus shuffleboard, with trivia on Tuesdays and live acoustic music on Wednesdays.
