Choice City
The Rockstar Verdict
Tucked into Old Town at the corner of College and Olive, Choice City is the kind of neighborhood restaurant that rewards a second look. It is a neighborhood favorite, reimagined: the room is cozy rather than fussy, the sunny patio is made for a long lunch, and the menu takes familiar comfort food and gives it a well-traveled twist. The signature to know first is the Butter Chicken Parm — Indian-inspired richness layered onto an Italian-American classic. The Tandoori Turkey Melt, developed in collaboration with Star of India, is another mashup worth trying, with tandoori-spiced turkey and Calabrian chili garlic chutney on griddled sourdough. The Buffalo Reuben is a local legend, and the Collins Curds and curried mussels round out regulars' favorites. Beyond those headliners, burgers and sandwiches range from the Classic to the Spice Route and the Chicken Caprese. Small plates and mains stretch from spiced hummus to steak frites and tofu madras, with ube cheesecake to finish. The bar pours local beer and global wine, and families are welcome, with a kids' menu and gluten-free and vegan options.
